How do I report graffiti?

Graffiti removal on public property is performed by the Public Works Department Maintenance Division per City Ordinance 577. Graffiti on public property is generally removed within 24 hours of notification.

Please note that any service request correspondence with the City of San Juan Capistrano, along with attachments, may be subject to the California Public Records Act, and therefore may be subject to disclosure unless otherwise exempt.

Please email the Public Works Department or call us at 949-443-6337 to report graffiti.

Graffiti removal on private property is the responsibility of the property owner and is enforced by the City's Code Enforcement Division of the Community Development Department. For graffiti removal on private property, please email Code Enforcement Division or call them at 949-443-6341, or complete the Code Enforcement Violation Form.

For graffiti located along the freeway or somewhere in the Caltrans right-of-way, please contact Caltrans directly by calling its graffiti hotline 949-936-3500.
