Take Advantage of Mother Nature's Water Savings

Nov 28, 2018 67 Views 0 Comments FacebookTwitterLinkedInGoogle Plus

Fall is here with cooler, shorter days and some much-needed rain on the way. Have you adjusted your sprinkler timers? Water needs for your lawn and garden tend to decrease dramatically in the fall. This is the time to reduce outdoor watering and avoid water waste.

Please remember to manually turn off the irrigation system during rain, and no watering for up to 48 hours after a rain event. A few rainy days can provide enough water for lawns to survive for long stretches without irrigation. Outdoor watering accounts for nearly 60% of a typical household's water use in California. Contact San Juan Capistrano Water Conservation Division for a complimentary water efficiency consultations at 949-487-4304, or

Thank you for your water-saving efforts.
