Free Flu Vaccination Clinic for Seniors - October 24, 2017

The City of San Juan Capistrano and Memorial Health Care will host a free flu vaccination clinic for adults age 55 and over on Tuesday, October 24, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., while supplies last. Appointments are not necessary and curbside service is available for the disabled. On Saturday, October 28, San Juan Capistrano Police Services and the Drug Enforcement Agency will once again team up to allow residents to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs. Residents can bring their medications for disposal at City Hall, located at 32400 Paseo Adelanto. Learn how to be prepared for any disaster (wildfires, storms, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis and more) at the 10th Annual South County Disaster Preparedness Expo on Saturday, October 21. The Expo is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Mission Viejo Community & Senior Center located at 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo. The Expo is free to the public and will feature emergency response vehicles and equipment displays, sample disaster preparedness kits, information booths and activities for all ages. Fall 2017 CERT Class Registration

The City is now accepting applications for Fall CERT classes. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a program designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of a man-made or natural disaster. The six-week course encompasses disaster preparedness, terrorism awareness, fire safety, team organization, and light search and rescue. The final class will culminate with a disaster simulation using skills learned throughout the course. CERT classes are scheduled September 27 through November 1, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.   The final class simulation will be on Saturday, November 4, 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Classes are free for San Juan residents  and business owners, and participants must be 18 years of age or older.
