Volunteer Program

The City of San Juan Capistrano welcomes and invites volunteers to assist in providing a variety of services and programs to its citizens. The City’s volunteer program provides a broad source of expertise, talent, and manpower for City programs, as well as an opportunity for citizens to participate in their local government. Volunteers may provide assistance with special events, gardening, recreation (arts and crafts, child development), administrative, safety services, and much more. To participate in the City’s volunteer program, please complete a volunteer application below and submit to the Human Resources Department located at 32400 Paseo Adelanto, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. The City is continually accepting applications for a variety of programs, as well as for creating a pool of volunteers that are available to provide services as the need arises.

Currently, the City is seeking volunteers for the following:

 

City-wide

  • Administrative assignments: Assignments range from greeting guests, answering phones, filing, and data entry at various departments throughout the City.

Community Services

  • Senior Club programs: Assignments include greeting guests, answering phones, and other administrative duties for the senior club office located at the Community Center.

Safety & Emergency Services

  • Associated Senior Action Program (ASAP): Volunteers assist Police Services with a variety of assignments such as home-vacation checks, van & bike patrol, administrative assistance, and special events services. Assignments may include parking enforcement, reporting graffiti, and other safety outreach duties. ASAP volunteers are involved in Neighborhood Watch presentations, the Elderly Support Program, and providing assistance at the Kiosk booth at the train depot.
